MORE DIGESTIBLE STARCH
Raw corn kernels contain 68-74% starch. When we produce NexGen corn, we are subjecting the corn starch granules to high shear and pressure, which physically modifies the starch in the kernel of corn. It’s the combination of swelling and rupturing the starch in the corn kernel plus physically tearing it into smaller pieces, which makes it more digestible for livestock. When NexGen corn is processed, 90-94% of the starch is modified.
DIET FORMULATION
Less NexGen corn is required in livestock feed rations than cracked or whole corn to achieve the same nutritional energy targets. Some of our customers are feeding up to 30% less NexGen corn than cracked or whole corn and reducing the total number of on feed days to reach target weights.
